Disability in Figures is a website that collects, systematizes and disseminates statistics on disability produced by the National Statistics Institute (Istat) and other National Statistical System (Sistan) organizations. The site's contents document the presence, living conditions, and level of social inclusion of persons with disabilities, thus providing support for planning, monitoring of policies and implementing the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. A navigation path by themes and sub-themes has been set up to make data consultation easier.
Disability in Figures consists of various official statistical and administrative sources that use different definitions of disability: a metadata system provides the information necessary to correct data interpretation and use. All visualized data can be exported in XLS format.
The website is organized into three sections:
Data access: allows the user to browse, query and download the available data.
Documentation and Glossary: provides publications, background information and clarification of terminology.
Link: contains links to national and international organizations relevant to the topics covered in the information system.
