Beneficiaries of pensions for persons with disability are those who receives one of the following type of pension: invalidity, indemnity, civil Invalidity and assimilated categories, war pension, or more pensions of which at least one of the types listed above.
Recipients with only attendance allowance are those who, among the forms of social security and assistance provided to persons with disabilities, receiving only one the one called attendance allowance. These persons accumulate this benefit with other pensions not related to disability.
The data refer to 31 December of the year under review.
In 2012 the total number of beneficiaries does not include 25,506 persons who live abroad or did not indicate the place of residence.
On 06/30/2016, the data on pensions paid to people with disabilities have been updated, from the year 2012, following the reclassification on the part of INPS of the pensions paid by the former INPDAP (merged into INPS in 2012). Such pensions, formerly classified as old-age pensions, are now listed as pensions for persons with disability.
In 2012, INPS made a methodological refinement that has allowed a more precise classification of civil disability pensions paid in the Autonomous Province of Trento, for the years 2011, 2012 and 2013.
